Bjørn Røstad som er saksofonist i Sambandet til Åge Aleksandersen, sier at et Finesse er noe varmere enn et Jazz, men for de som etterstreber dette er det et rett valg. Intonasjonen er nydelig over hele registeret.
The Finesse is more of a pure classical mouthpiece, with a tone about like a Vandoren and gives a more consistent sound when used with a Yamaha altsax. This mouthpiece is darker than a Selmer C* and good for classical and concert band. It is similiar to a Caravan #8.
The Finesse is the best for working with the Choir as it plays down to a whisper and can sound nearly as smooth as a French horn. It has a sound that is dark and thick but when you push it into higher volume it realy sings out sweetly. The sound is so pure, clean, but not dull or hollow.
The Finesse has a chamber similar to the Selmer S80/90, except the Finesse chamber is larger and has rounded edges on the corners. It resembles an oval with flattened sides, not quite square but not quite round.
