Detaljer:

Do you prefer the sound of an Orange to a Vox? Were you more excited about the Ozzy reunion w/Sabbath than David Lee getting back w/VH? Would you rather have seen Tony at MSG than Jimi at Berkley? If you’re not the typical guitarist, then why settle for the typical gear choices? The Rock N Roll Doctors at Germany’s Musician Sound Design have found the cure for your ills, and it comes in a little silver box called the PD-1 Paranoid.

As the name implies, the Paranoid was designed to reproduce the massive, syrupy thick guitar tones of Black Sabbath legend Tony Iommi circa the first four Sabbath studio albums.

Three simple controls initiate the mere mortal to this netherworld of tone:

  • Volume – Adds just enough output to boost your level without overdriving your amp (don’t worry, the Overkill control will take care of that for you!), allowing you to toggle between clean and crunch with ease.
  • Tone - Specially-voiced High Cut/High Boost tone circuit adds just the right amount of edge to cut through the mix without losing low end. A center-detent lets you find the secret Sabbath sound with ease!
  • Overkill – Named for an obscure German Sci-Fi character, this control adds all the crunch and punch you could possibly desire and then some! At minimum you get a tight, slightly edgy overdrive tone that puts a TS808 to shame. At 12 o’clock Overkill gives you the best of both worlds, allowing you to jump from rhythm to lead playing without adjusting your settings. At maximum setting the Overkill control goes wild, unleashing singing, slightly compressed saturation that (when combined with your guitar’s neck pickup) will sustain into glorious, howling feedback that will raise the dead, or at least get the audience on their feet!

The PD-1 is hand built in Germany and features the highest quality components available such as a 14-gauge stainless steel chassis which helps eliminate noise, a Blue LED status indicator, and mechanical true bypass switching (not that you will ever shut it off!).
